We’re excited to announce that Salisbury Township is hosting our first Trunk or Treat, and we’re looking for businesses, organizations, community groups, and residents to help make it a fun afternoon!

The dates for next week’s paving work have been scheduled:

🚧 New Traffic Control at the I-78/Summit Lawn Exit Ramp
You may have noticed new stop signs at intersection of the I-78 Summit Lawn exit ramp and W. Rock Road, as well as temporary signage at the entrance and exit ramps.
PennDOT recently installed the additional stop signs, creating a four-way stop at the intersection. After evaluating the location, PennDOT determined that sight distance is inadequate because of the sound barrier, and the four-way stop is intended to improve safety for motorists.
The stop signs will be uncovered and become effective on Monday. Please watch for the new traffic pattern and use extra caution as drivers adjust to the change.
In addition, PennDOT has informed the Township that ramp construction at the Summit Lawn interchange is scheduled to begin later in August. The Township will receive advance notice before work starts, and we'll share additional details with residents as soon as they become available.

Administered by the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and the Office of Senator Nick Miller, this program offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 for eligible improvement projects.
Grant funding may be used for projects such as:
✨ Interior and exterior renovations
🎨 Façade improvements, paint, flooring, lighting, and signage
💡 Energy efficiency upgrades
🛠️ Improvements that enhance customer experience and business functionality
🌳 Placemaking projects that strengthen your business and community

We'd also like to thank Eastern Salisbury Fire Department, Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company and the Salisbury Township School District for helping make this event possible. Your partnership and dedication to our community are greatly appreciated!
With the heat expected to continue over the next few days, please remember to take precautions to keep yourself and your loved ones safe:

🌳 Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day (typically 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
❄️ Spend time in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and sunscreen when outdoors.
🚗 Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
👵 Check in on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.

Due to the forecasted extreme heat, the Summer Park Playground Program will be canceled on Thursday, July 2.
The health and safety of our participants and staff is our top priority, and with temperatures expected to be dangerously high, we’ve made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s program.
